Just had a super yummylicious sammy! Apparently everyone in the world has had this recipe but me! I only just learned of this sandwich of the gods, hours ago myself! My friend Kristen told me about it and as soon as I got off work, I head home to try it. Just in case you've been leading a sheltered life like I have, I'm sharing the secret. This can be used to feed starving children, seduce a hungry woman, or just to treat yourself. All of these ingredients can be found at your neighborhood grocers :0)
Ingredients:
Bread (I used white.)
Peanut Butter
Banana (Sliced)
Honey
Directions:
Put peanut butter on one piece of bread. Put banana slices on top of the peanut butter. Put honey on the other piece of bread, unless you want double the nutty butter, then spread on both pieces of bread and add honey on top. Now the crucial step is to put it in the freezer and let the honey solidify a bit.
I paired my sammy with a glass of milk and some cheesy poofs. MMmmmm. yes I did just write out a recipe for a delicious and incredibly simple to make sandwich. Step aside Martha! There's a new blond in town!

Happy 4th of July!
I wore this dress for obvious reasons and remembered Felipe had a similar patriotic ensemble! Rockin it! Happy 4th everyone! Although I sometimes complain about the U.S. government, it could be much worse and we should help others in other places where they are not so lucky. I also think it's important to preserve our rights. Anne Rice shared a link of facebook the other day that I found alarming. Regardless of your opinion on abortion there is a lot more going on here:

When Peter Met Tink:
Hello everyone! I've not posted anything new in awhile but I have been working. I am still working on a dress that is more complicated than any I've made before and I'm very happy to say it seems to be coming along beautifully! I have learned a lot of new techniques with it like: boning, piping, and a french seam, while practicing ones I already knew like gathering and slip stitching. It's in about 3 large sections right now and I just picked up the other items I need today so it should hopefully be finished and lovely soon!
In the meantime, I've been drawing a bit for my etsy shop and made a card. It shows Peter Pan and Tinkerbell meeting for the first time. I went with an adult Tinkerbell in this one like in the movie, "Hook." I might make another with a baby Tink as well. I used colored pencils and a macron marker for the outlining.

The latest news...
So I tried to make a tie which did not go well at all. I think I used too difficult of a fabric to work with on my first attempt. Then I made 1 flower from a pattern that comes with a ton of different styles. It's not exactly semetrical but I like to think of it as eccentric and if I keep practicing they'll be less eccentric. It was also my first attempt at beading.
Then I made a purse from a pattern I have. I had made the version with fabric ties for handles before anthis time used bamboo handles. I was so happy with how it turned out, that I made another.

Home Sweet Home
So I've recently moved into a new place and since I like to think of myself as crafty, I've been making some simple items to decorate. It's also a lot cheaper than trying to buy it all. I've sewn curtains, pillows and a table cloth so far. I used some paintings that my grandpa did as a starting point for inspiration. Plus, who doesn't love the beach? Conveniently I have an abundance of The Little Mermaid themed items because Ariel is my fave! The only thing I need now is a shelf for all my books, which reminds me, The book in the couch is called, "By Royal Decree." It's part of a series called: Secrets of the Tudors and I reccomend it. :0) My old one is broken and not at all easy to transport so I'll most likely just get a simple inexpensive replacement at Target or WalMart. Anyway, here are some pictures of the things I made and also some of my house in general because I think it looks wonderful!

The not so simple pink and white dress...
The dress may look simple but when you've misplaced the directions, it becomes slightly more complicated. I could have just looked for the directions, but I didn't feel like looking for them. I felt like sewing! So through trial and error I was able to finish.
Lately I've been looking at formal and historical style dresses. I am thinking about challenging myself and moving on to more difficult dresses. The next pattern I buy will be a more elegant/extravagant/ooh la la dress...I hope. :0)

Newly made dress and Gryffindor Scarf

Hello again! You are probably all wondering where I have been for the past month. (Humor me.) Well as it turns out I have been oh so busy. I was in the process of moving among other things and alas I now have internet! Yesssss! I am back inside world! So in the meantime I've been crafty crafting away. I completed this dress and scarf as you can see. I have also been sewing decor for my new place which i will photograph and upload at a later date. I am still waiting on my coffee table and a shelf that I have to move. Both will be part of the decor and i don't want to share until it's finished. It's driving me mildly insane that it's not completely finished but it won't be long :0). So anyways, I am sharing these new items on my blog and selling them on etsy so we shall see....
