30 Day Photo Challenge: Day 15- Technology

I tried to do a picture portraying getting lost/trapped in the world of technology.  I used a free screensaver as the background. The background is not my work. It is borrowed from a screensaver. So anyway, I am obviously an internet user and it is cool that I can connect with people on the other side of the world.  I also have a cell phone but will not get a smart phone because I already feel way too attatched to my phone just from texting. In the medical aspect of technology, of course I am grateful for technology. Even photography has changed. I fell in love with the dark room and not spending hours in front of a computer using photoshop. A lot of the time I wish we could go back a couple decades to landlines and handwritten letters.  Ijust prefer a face-to-face interaction and I feel like real life gets pushed aside for the digital world. In the end I guess it's a love-hate relationship. Ugh!

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day 13- Written Words

I wanted my picture for today's challenge to be hand-written and not typed.  I think handwriting is so underrated because every one's is unique and telling.  I enjoy the convenience of typing, but I hope handwritten letters and cards are still a part of our lives because they are so personal.

Baby Hat, Bib and Booties

One of our friends at work is having a baby.  She was nice enough to invite me to her shower but sadly I work. I made some little baby gear to make up for it!

The fabric choice took me forever to pick but I finally settled on this one. It was a fun project that I will consider selling on etsy...after I finish all my holiday gift projects which will be taking most of my time now.

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day 11- Something Old

Last week my dad asked me if I could use these old sewing machine parts that belonged to my great-grandma (Nelly).  Of course they will not work on my machine because 1. they are super old and 2. They are for a Kenmore sewing machine and I have a Singer.  I took them anyways because I thought to myself, "Wow wouldn't it be super groovy and rad if I could somehow attach them to a bag or something amazing?!" So maybe that will happen, but today they are just an awesome picture :0) Oh and it's the first black and white photo I've done in my 30-day challenge.

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day 9-Inspiring Person

Ok I admit this is a bit of a cheat. I took this picture a few years ago but I'm using it anyways. My Uncle Ray (right) is the inspiring person I chose. The one on the left is his brother and my grandma was his sister.  Uncle Ray is inspiring because he is nice to everyone and helps people that many of us ignore.  He is the most genuine and kindest person I know. He has worked hard all his life and still washes windows to this day. He has had a mural depicting him painted in Broadway Plaza. I think it shows how much of an impact one person can have on the world by just being kind.

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day 7-Something Funny

Hello again! Well for today's challenge I first considered borrowing my roommates "Ellen Wig." But then, I remembered what a smash hit my Oprah costume was for Halloween. I thought to myself, "what could be better than me dressed up as Oprah?" (I didn't want to cheat with a been done idea.) Then BAM! Divine intervention, and "Aha! Moment, and Zues' beard all struck me at exactly the same moment! The next best thing is Felipe dressed as Oprah! Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you: Oprah Dog!

I feel like he looks real sophisticated in this photo.

P.S. I've been working on a new and improved marf and hat for the finishing touches to my snow gear!

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day 5-Morning Sky

I don't know if "morning sky," is supposed to mean sunrise, but I'm not trying to be up at sunrise. So this is the morning sky of my morning. I think it looks kinda outer spacey. I've had my thinking cap on a lot lately and this looks like an appropriate picture. I also like it because of the light and dark coming together.

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day 4-Leaves

Today's topic is "Leaves." It was quite rainy today so I had to wait for it to stop. Then I had work. I decided to make a tree at my house a Christmas tree! So I did it at night with a flashlight ooooooooh...
It came out very Moses-ish...

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day 3-Happiness

I was influenced by the timing of Veteran's Day and this photo challenge topic.  I definitely see problems with the government, medical institution and many other things in the United States of America, but I don't want to sound ungrateful while living here. I understand the violent and unpredictable atmosphere many other people in the world face on a daily basis. So for happiness, I chose to photograph the United States of America flag in front of San Francisco. I am focusing on the idea that it represents, "the pursuit of happiness." To me happiness is being surrounded by friends and family that I love and not having to fear for our safety or worry where our next meal will come from and when it will be.  People everywhere in every country are owed this right, although some are robbed of it. I couldn't pick between the 2 so take one as a "Happy Veteran's Day."

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day 2-Smile

I'm not super excited about this one.  I went to Turlock with my roommate with the intent to take a good picture.  Sadly, I forgot a cf card soooo couldn't take any pictures.  :0( When I got home, I had to work soon so I just did a quick one:

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day 1-Favorite Food

The 30-day photoor challenge is a project I found on pinterest.com. I haven't done a long photo project in a long time so for the next 30 days, here I go!  Day 1 is to photograph your favorite food. I don't really have 1 specific favorite food but I do love food. Today was my day off so I made dinner for my boyfriend.  We had mostaccioli with chicken, zucchini and red peppers. I cooked them in olive oil and herbs. Mikey made some garlic bread to go with it.

Here is the Challenge for anyone else interested in doing it:
